When the Mac cannot reach Qufy, some actions wait on this Mac and sync when the connection is back. Others need a connection and are not kept.
Steps
- 1
Keep working as usual. When an action is kept, the app shows “Saved on this Mac. It will sync when you are back online.”
- 2
Check the line under the clock on the Timer page, or at the bottom of the menu-bar panel: “1 action waiting to sync” or “{count} actions waiting to sync”.
- 3
When you are back online, wait for the line to clear. To sync right away, right-click the Q in the menu bar and choose “Sync”.
Good to know
- Kept on this Mac: starting the timer, stopping a timer you also started offline, notes, moving or switching the project, adding time, and turning the weekly reminder on or off.
- Needs a connection: pause and resume, editing a session, deleting a session, and creating a project. An edit made offline is not saved yet, even though the app may say “Saved on this Mac. It will sync when you are back online.”, so make edits when you are online.
- If you stopped a timer while offline that you had started while online, check the timer when you are back online. If it is still running, stop it again.
- The app tries to sync on every refresh, when the Mac wakes, when the network comes back, and when you choose “Sync”. If a try fails, it waits 15 seconds, then a little longer each time, up to every 5 minutes.
- Nothing is created twice. A start that syncs while another timer is already running is not created, and a session under a minute is dropped.
- A timer started offline may not show a running clock until the app is back online.
If something goes wrong
- “The waiting count does not go down after you are back online.”
- Right-click the Q and choose “Sync”. If an item was refused (for example, its time overlaps another session), it stays in the queue and keeps retrying, and the app has no way to clear it. Check that time on the website, and send us a note from About if the count stays.
